New 3D encoder unveiled at IBC 2010

Clear battle lines were drawn today, with the unveiling of the CINEMA CRAFT® 3D encoder during IBC 2010. Known simply as CC-3De, it is by far the most innovative product to emerge from the Custom Technology camp since CC-Pro was first introduced in 1997 and sets a new standard for 2D and 3D encoders.

CC-3De clearly complements it’s AVC/H.264 forerunner by providing an array of functionalities, far surpassing and outperforming the competition:

  • Optimized for Intel Xeon Nehalem and Westmere Processors
  • Supports 1920x1080/23.976p, 1280x720/59.94p and 1280x720/50p
  • Variable-position vertical/horizontal Split Screen for stream comparison
  • Multiple specialized Filters
  • Accurate Segment Re-encoding
  • Simultaneous encoding of Base and Dependent streams
  • Faster than Realtime for Dual Streams
  • Excellent picture quality
  • Seamless integration with available 3D Authoring applications
  • 100% 3D-BD Compliant

As is often the case, being last to begin does provide subtle advantages!! The launch date of the Beta program is set for mid-September and judging from the response so far, there is justifiable cause for celebration.
