Dean Harris | Director
Dean Harris has been a creative engineering visionary, solutions architect, and technology entrepreneur for over 25 years. Starting out as a research consultant to Bell Labs, he converged computing and networking architectures with advanced voice and data switching. He went on to lead the Toshiba Advanced Research Labs team which created the world’s first DVD pre-mastering studio, earning the team a Technical Emmy Award.
In 1996 Dean co-founded Front Porch Video – an industry leader that developed software solutions for core MPEG Compression and media authoring functions used in professional video broadcast and cable operations. During the past decade he has spearheaded and revolutionized many of the most innovative technologies in DVD, Blu-ray, and digital media convergence.
As a highly networked catalyst, he currently facilitates the creation of disruptive media-centric businesses, by advising companies on both coasts; helping them with content alliances, DTV transition strategies and making VOD in the classroom a reality. Equally at home with contemporary artists, venture capitalists and media corporate moguls, he is a Charter Member of the Princeton area entrepreneurial group, Einstein’s Alley.
Martin Seer | Consulting Blu-ray & Streaming
Martin Seer started out developing applications for MHP in 2000 and ended up perfectly prepared when the Blu-ray format was released. Beyond BD authoring and BD-J development Martin Seer is an expert in video streaming and web technologies and runs the Salzburg based media production agency Typo-Wimmer GmbH.
